CollaNote
An app that lets you take notes on your iPad together with others.
What CollaNote does
CollaNote is a handwriting and PDF app for iPad and iPhone (and Apple silicon Macs). It has a big set of pens and brushes for Apple Pencil, PDF and slide markup, audio recording, and real-time collaboration. It's free to download, and Premium is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.
CollaNote is a small indie app with a lot packed in. You get 25+ pens and brushes for Apple Pencil, a stabilizer that smooths shaky lines, and unlimited paper and notebooks. Import PDFs, slides, Word files and images, or scan paper pages, then write on them and export as PDF.
Two things stand out. First, collaboration: you can invite others to work on the same notes in real time. Second, the price. Premium is a one-time purchase listed at $13.90 in the US App Store, sometimes discounted, instead of a yearly subscription.
It also records audio synced with your writing, includes planners and flashcards, and has AI tools like handwriting to text and writing help (some need Apple Pencil Pro). Notes back up and sync through iCloud, so it's Apple-only. If you want a full-featured iPad notebook without a subscription, it's worth a try.
