Cooklist
An app that matches recipes to the food already in your pantry.
What Cooklist does
Cooklist is a pantry and recipe app. Link your grocery store loyalty accounts and it pulls what you bought into a digital pantry, then matches recipes to what you have. Pick a recipe and it makes a shopping list of only the missing items, sorted by aisle.
Most cook-from-your-fridge apps make you type in every ingredient. Cooklist tries to skip that step. Connect your loyalty accounts from stores like Walmart, Kroger, Safeway and Wegmans, and your purchases flow into a digital pantry on their own. You can also scan barcodes to add items.
From there it suggests recipes based on what you have, from a pool of over a million. Choose what to cook and the shopping list only includes what's missing, grouped by aisle. Expiration alerts nudge you to use food before it goes bad, and your household can share the pantry, recipes and lists.
Store linking is built around US grocery chains, and some store connections need fixing now and then, as recent updates show. Ratings on Google Play are much lower than on the App Store. If you shop at a supported store, it's a very hands-off way to know what's in your kitchen.
