What FlipaClip does

FlipaClip is a frame-by-frame animation app that works like a digital flipbook. You draw each frame, see the last one faintly underneath, add sound, and export your cartoon as a video or GIF. It is free on iPhone, iPad and Android, with ads and an optional upgrade.

Frame-by-frame drawing with onion skin
Music, sound effects and voice-overs
Import photos or video to trace over
Export to MP4 and GIF
AI tools like Magic Cut and a voice maker
Community challenges and sharing

FlipaClip is where a lot of people make their first cartoon. You draw a frame, add the next, and onion skin shows the previous frame faintly so movement lines up. Brushes, fill, lasso, ruler, text and shapes cover the drawing side.

Sound is part of the fun. You can add music, sound effects and voice-overs, and there is an AI voice maker. You can also import photos or video to trace over (rotoscoping), and Magic Cut cuts images out with AI. Finished animations export as MP4 or GIF.

The free version gives you three layers and shows ads. FlipaClip Plus adds unlimited layers and PNG sequence export. There is also a community with challenges and a place to share shorts.

It is easy to start and good enough for real short animations, though serious animators may outgrow the layer limit fast.
