What InnoCaption does

InnoCaption captions your phone calls so you can read what the other person says while you talk with your own voice. You choose AI captions or a live stenographer, and can switch mid-call. It's free for eligible people in the US with hearing loss.

Real-time captions on phone calls
Switch between AI and live stenographers
Captioned voicemail and 911 calls
Type replies and have them spoken
AI summaries of call transcripts
Web captions on a bigger screen

InnoCaption is a captioned phone service in an app. Calls go through your phone as usual, and captions scroll on screen in real time. The neat part is the choice: AI captions, or a human stenographer who is available around the clock. You can switch between them before or during a call.

It covers incoming, outgoing and three-way calls, plus captioned voicemail and 911 calls. You can type replies for the app to speak, keep saved transcripts, and get short AI summaries of calls. A web version can stream captions to a bigger screen, and there's an Apple Watch app.

To sign up you verify your number and sign a self-certification that you have hearing loss. No doctor's note is needed. It's US only, because the FCC pays for it, and it needs a data or Wi-Fi connection to work.
