Notion is an all-in-one workspace for notes, docs, wikis, databases and task lists. You build pages from blocks, link them together, and share them with friends or a team. It works on the web, Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad and Android, with a free plan for individuals.
Notion is less a notes app and more a set of building blocks. A page can be a quick note, a reading list, a project tracker, a team wiki or a full database with different views. Pages nest inside each other and link together, so you can keep everything from class notes to company docs in one place.
It shines when you share it. You can invite people to a page, comment, and work on the same doc at the same time. The free plan is generous for one person, with unlimited pages and blocks, but uploads are capped at 5 MB per file and page history only goes back 7 days.
Notion AI and AI meeting notes are the big newer pieces. On the free and Plus plans you only get a limited trial of them, and the full versions come with Business. The flexibility is also the catch: a blank Notion workspace can feel like homework before it feels useful. If you want quick jot-it-down notes, a simpler app will be faster.
