Orbit
An app that catches free trials before they turn into charges.
What Orbit does
Orbit is an iPhone app for keeping track of subscriptions and recurring bills. Instead of typing everything in, you can import from screenshots, CSV files or bank statements. It warns you before free trials turn into paid plans, shows renewals on a calendar, and keeps your data on your device.
Orbit is a newer tracker from Flooben, and its best trick is getting your subscriptions in without much typing. A guided setup helps you find what you already pay for, and you can import from a screenshot, a CSV file or a bank statement you download yourself. There's no bank login.
Once your list is in, Orbit shows your total yearly cost, which is often the number that makes people cancel something. You get reminders before renewals, a heads up before a free trial starts charging, and a calendar view of every renewal. You can pause a subscription too, and it works in 30+ languages and currencies.
Your data stays on your phone. The free version gets you going, and Orbit Plus adds unlimited tracking, widgets and iCloud backup. It's sold as a one-time purchase, though the store also lists an annual option, so check which price you're offered. We only found an iPhone version, and nothing for Android.
