ElevenReader
An app that reads books, PDFs and articles in lifelike AI voices.
What ElevenReader does
ElevenReader is a read-aloud app from ElevenLabs, the AI voice company. It turns PDFs, EPUBs, Word docs, web links and camera scans into audio, and it also has a catalog of audiobooks. It works on iPhone, Android and the web.
ElevenReader is what happens when a voice AI company builds a reading app. The pitch is the voices: the company says it has more than 1,000 of them in dozens of languages and describes them as lifelike. You can even design your own narrator on the paid plan.
You can feed it almost anything: a PDF, an EPUB, a Word file, a link to an article or newsletter, pasted text, or a photo of a page. It also comes with a library of audiobooks, including free classics, and some licensed titles narrated in well-known voices.
The free plan is generous for casual listening, with 10 hours of text to audio each month, speeds up to 4x and sync between phone and web. If you listen every day, Ultra removes the limit and adds offline downloads. It's a newer app than the classic readers, so expect features to keep changing.
