What Evernote does

Evernote is one of the original everything-notebooks. You save typed notes, web pages, photos, PDFs, voice memos and checklists in one place, then find them with search that reads text inside images and PDFs. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, Windows and the web, and now has AI tools built in.

Save notes, web clips, photos, PDFs and voice memos
Search inside images and PDFs, plus plain-language search
AI summaries, transcription and writing help
Tasks, due dates and reminders inside notes
Notebooks, tags and pinned notes
Works offline and syncs across devices

Evernote is built for collecting. Clip an article from the web, snap a receipt, forward an email, record a voice memo or jot a quick checklist, and it all lands in notebooks you can tag and pin. The search is the real draw: it finds words inside photos and PDFs, and you can search in plain language instead of exact keywords.

Newer AI features can record and summarize conversations, transcribe audio and video, and help shorten or reword a draft. Tasks with due dates and reminders live right inside notes, so a meeting note can carry its own to-dos.

It works offline and syncs across your devices. The tradeoff is that Evernote has grown into a big, feature-heavy app, and we couldn't confirm current prices, so check the plans before you commit. If you want one searchable home for everything, it's still a strong pick. If you just want quick notes, a lighter app will feel faster.
