Granola
An app that writes your meeting notes without a bot on the call.
What Granola does
Granola is an AI notepad for meetings. It listens through your computer or phone instead of sending a bot into the call, transcribes as people talk, and turns your rough jottings into clean notes with action items. It runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, with a free plan.
Granola works differently from most AI note takers. Nothing joins your Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call. Instead, the desktop app listens to your computer's audio while you type a few rough notes of your own. When the meeting ends, it combines your notes with the transcript into a tidy write-up with decisions, action items and follow-ups. Granola says it transcribes in real time and does not keep the audio afterward.
Away from your desk, the iPhone app can capture in-person conversations and phone calls. The Android app, launched in July 2026, covers in-person conversations. You can chat with your notes to find what was said, and share notes with others.
The free Basic plan lets you record as many meetings as you like, but you can only open notes from the last 30 days. Business at $14 per person a month removes that limit and adds integrations like Slack and Notion. Because no bot shows up, people may not know they're being transcribed. Granola's own guidance is to tell them, and to check consent rules where you live. AI notes can also miss or mishear things, so check anything important.

Questions people ask
Does Granola join my meetings as a bot?
No. Granola listens through your own computer or phone, so nothing extra shows up in the call. That also means it's up to you to tell people you're transcribing.
Is Granola free?
Yes. The free plan covers unlimited meetings, but you can only open notes from the last 30 days.
Does Granola have a phone app?
Yes. There is an iPhone app that captures in-person meetings and phone calls, and an Android app (since July 2026) for in-person conversations.
Does Granola record audio?
It listens to the audio so it can transcribe, but Granola says it does not keep the audio afterward. You get the transcript and notes, not a recording to replay.
