Honeydue
An app that helps couples see and talk about money together.
What Honeydue does
Honeydue is a free budgeting app made for couples. You each link your bank and card accounts, choose how much your partner can see, and track bills, budgets and shared costs in one place. It runs on iPhone and Android and is paid for by ads and optional tips.
Honeydue is built for the money talk most couples put off. Each of you links your own accounts, then decides account by account whether your partner sees everything, only the balance, or nothing at all. You can even hide a single purchase, which is handy around birthdays.
Spending gets sorted into categories on its own, and you can set monthly limits for the household and get a heads-up as you get close. Add recurring bills with their due dates and you both get a reminder before they're due. When a purchase looks odd, you can comment on it or react with an emoji instead of starting a big conversation.
It's free, and it shows ads. Every so often it asks for an optional tip, but tipping doesn't change any features. What it doesn't do is deep planning. There's no desktop version and only basic reports, so it suits couples who want shared visibility more than a detailed budgeting method.
