What Mate Translate does

Mate Translate is a small-studio translator for people who switch between phone and computer. It works on iPhone, iPad, Mac and in major browsers, with history and phrasebook synced across them. It claims 250+ languages, offline packs for 55+, camera translation drawn right onto the image, and spoken results.

250+ languages, with offline packs for 55+
Camera translation drawn onto the image, online or offline
Speech translation with spoken results
Safari and browser extensions for whole pages
History and phrasebook synced across devices

Mate is built for people who translate all day across devices. Select text on a web page and translate it without leaving Safari, save a phrase on your Mac, and find it on your phone later. Browser extensions cover Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Edge.

On the phone, point the camera at a sign, menu or document and the translation appears on top of the picture, even offline for downloaded languages. You can speak to translate and hear the result read out loud.

There is no free plan. After a 7-day trial you pay monthly, yearly or weekly. And there is no Android app, so it suits people who live in Apple devices and a desktop browser.
