What PCGS CoinFacts does

PCGS CoinFacts is a free reference app from PCGS, one of the big coin grading companies. It covers U.S. coins with prices by grade, photos of each grade, population counts and a large archive of past auction results. It doesn't identify coins from a photo, so you need to know what you have or scan the barcode on a graded coin's holder.

PCGS price guide for U.S. coins by grade
Photograde images that show each grade
Population counts and auction prices realized
Barcode scan for PCGS and NGC graded coins
Variety guides and expert write-ups

CoinFacts is the kind of app serious U.S. collectors keep on their phone. Look up a coin and you see the PCGS price guide for every grade, how many have been graded, high-resolution photos that show what each grade looks like, and auction prices realized. Expert write-ups explain varieties and what to look for.

If a coin is already graded by PCGS or NGC, you can scan the barcode on the plastic holder to jump straight to it. For a loose coin, you search by type, year and mint mark yourself. There's no snap-a-photo identification here.

The prices are a guide for coins in a specific grade, not a promise of what yours will sell for. Grade is everything, so compare your coin to the grade photos and be honest with yourself, or send it for grading if it looks valuable. The app needs a connection, and the iPhone version was last updated in May 2024 while the Android version saw an update in December 2025.
