Splitser
An app that shares group costs and settles them up.
What Splitser does
Splitser, called WieBetaaltWat in the Netherlands, is a group expense app for friends, couples, roommates and trips. You keep shared lists of expenses, split them, and settle up, including paying directly with iDEAL or Bancontact. It's best known in the Netherlands and Belgium and runs on iPhone and Android.
Splitser started in the Netherlands as WieBetaaltWat (roughly "who pays what"). You create an expense list for your household, a trip or a club, invite people through a messaging app, text or email, and everyone adds what they paid.
Expenses can be split and sorted into categories, with receipt images, recurring costs and reminders. It handles more than 150 currencies and works offline. You get spending insights by category and by member, plus CSV or PDF export when you need a record.
Settling up is where it stands out for Dutch and Belgian groups. Besides tracking who has paid back, you can send payment requests, show a QR code, or pay directly with iDEAL or Bancontact, the bank payment methods people use in the Netherlands and Belgium. Outside those countries it still works as a solid splitter, just without that built-in payment step.
