What SwiftScan does
SwiftScan is a scanner for iPhone, iPad and Android that saves free PDF or JPG scans in one tap. Paid plans add text recognition, AI summaries and translation, editing, e-signatures and faxing. It is quick and capable, but many of the best parts sit behind a subscription.
SwiftScan focuses on speed. It detects edges automatically, scans at 200 dpi or more, handles single and multi-page documents, and reads QR codes. Filters for color, grayscale and black and white tidy up the result.
The paid tiers are where it gets bigger. Text recognition makes scans searchable and copyable, AI tools summarize long documents or translate them, and you can annotate, redact text, sign and rearrange pages. It can also send faxes, lock files with Face ID and upload to iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive, WebDAV or FTP servers.
The App Store lists a VIP plan from $5.99 a month or $34.99 a year, and a Plus plan up to $59.99 a year. If you only need clean PDFs, the free scans may be enough. If you want OCR without a subscription, look at a one-time purchase scanner instead.
