If you have an iPhone, you already have Apple Maps. It plans routes with up to 15 stops, gives voice and lane guidance, and shows live incidents like crashes and closures. You'll also see speed limits and camera alerts, and you can report hazards yourself.
For getting around without a car, it has real-time bus, train and ferry updates, cycling routes with elevation, and AR walking directions. You can download maps to your iPhone or Apple Watch for offline use, including directions, and save walking routes and topographic trail maps too.
It's clean and less cluttered than most map apps, and it fits neatly with CarPlay, Siri and your Apple Watch. The catch is that it only works on Apple devices, so it's not the pick if you share plans with Android friends or switch phones.
