Organic Maps
An app that works fully offline with no ads and no tracking.
What Organic Maps does
Organic Maps is a free, open-source map app that works fully offline. Search, turn-by-turn directions and hiking and cycling trails all run without a connection, and there are no ads and no data collection. It is built on OpenStreetMap and runs on iPhone, Android and Apple silicon Macs.
Organic Maps is for people who want maps that just work, even with no signal, and who would rather not be tracked. You download the regions you need, then search, browse and navigate without data. That also saves battery.
It gives voice directions for walking, hiking, cycling, driving and transit, including multi-stop and alternative routes. Map layers show contour lines, hiking and cycling trails and metro lines, and you can record tracks and import or export them in common GPS formats. Places link to Wikipedia, and you can fix map mistakes yourself because the data comes from OpenStreetMap, updated about twice a month.
It's made by a small team and volunteers, and it's free with no ads or in-app purchases. You give up live traffic and the rich reviews of the big map apps, but for travel, hiking and privacy, it's one of the easiest offline maps to love.
