MAPS.ME is an offline map app for travelers. You download a country or region, then search, browse and get turn-by-turn directions for driving, walking and cycling without a connection. It uses OpenStreetMap data and adds travel guides and hotel booking. It is free with ads, and has a paid PRO plan.

MAPS.ME is built for travel, and it's light and fast offline. Once you download an area, you can search for places, see detailed points of interest and hiking trails, and get turn-by-turn directions by car, on foot or by bike, all with no data.

It adds travel extras on top: guides for places you visit, bookmarks you can share with friends, nearby category search for things like food and transit, and hotel booking through Booking.com.

The free version shows ads, and the app sells a PRO subscription and ad removal at several different prices. Reviews point out that it's great for quick city and travel navigation but less suited to technical or topographic hiking. If you want ad-free and fully free, Organic Maps is a close cousin worth a look.
