Down Dog
An app that builds a fresh yoga class around your level and time.
What Down Dog does
Down Dog is a yoga app that builds a new class every time you open it. You choose your level, style, pace, length and voice, and it puts together a fresh sequence. There are beginner levels and more than ten styles, including restorative and yin. A membership covers the full app.
Most yoga apps give you a library of recorded classes. Down Dog works differently: it creates a new sequence each time, so you don't repeat the same flow. Pick a style like vinyasa, restorative or yin, then set your level, pace, length and how much you want to focus on an area like hips or back.
You can choose from six teacher voices, change the music, and like or dislike poses so future classes skip the ones you don't want. Beginners can start at Beginner 1 and move up at their own pace. It tracks streaks and goals, syncs with Apple Health and works in 13 languages.
The same small team makes separate apps for pilates, HIIT, barre, meditation and prenatal yoga, and one membership covers them. Most of the app needs that membership after the trial, and prices on the App Store are hard to read, so check the price in the app before you commit.
