What EveryDollar does

EveryDollar is a zero-based budgeting app from Ramsey Solutions. You plan each month so income minus spending equals zero, then track against that plan. The free version is fully manual, and Premium adds bank sync. It works on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.

Zero-based monthly budget with unlimited categories
Sinking funds for bigger, less frequent costs
Bill due dates and split transactions
Optional bank sync with Premium
Household budget with separate logins
Works on iPhone, iPad, Android and web

EveryDollar keeps budgeting simple. At the start of each month you list your income, then give it all a place: bills, groceries, savings, fun. When the plan adds up to zero, you're done, and you track spending against it as the month goes.

The free version covers a lot. You get unlimited categories, sinking funds for bigger costs you save toward, split transactions and bill due dates. The catch is that you type in every purchase yourself, which some people love and others fall behind on. Premium connects your bank so transactions show up on their own, and adds paycheck-based planning, custom reports and CSV export. There's also a household option so two people can run one budget with separate logins.

If you want a clear monthly plan and don't mind logging spending by hand, the free plan is one of the better ones out there. Premium is pricey if you pay monthly, so the yearly plan makes more sense if you upgrade.
