NextCheck
An app that plans which bills each paycheck covers.
What NextCheck does
NextCheck is a new paycheck budgeting app from a solo developer. Instead of a monthly budget, each payday gets its own plan that shows which bills that check has to cover and what's left after. The planner is free, there's no bank login, and it runs on iPhone, iPad and the web.
If you get paid every week or every two weeks, a monthly budget never quite lines up with real life. NextCheck starts from your pay schedule instead. Each upcoming paycheck gets its own short list of bills, and you can see right away what that check needs to cover and how much is left over.
You keep one list of recurring bills with their due days, and the app sorts them into the right pay periods. Bills move from unpaid to pending to cleared as you go. You can split a shared expense across two checks, skip a bill for one cycle, add a one-off deposit, and set seasonal bills that only show up in the months they apply. A tap opens your biller's site when it's time to pay there.
It's early. The app launched in mid-2026 and has very few ratings so far, and the free tier now shows a small ad. Pro adds savings projections and yearly trends. If you live paycheck to paycheck and want a plan that matches when money actually lands, it's a simple, honest place to start.
