Surfline is a surf forecast app that rates the waves at your local break hour by hour, shows swell, wind and tide, and has a huge network of live surf cams. The forecasts are free with ads. Premium adds unlimited cams, longer forecasts and no ads.
Surfline is built around one question: will it be good, and when? Pick your spot and you get hourly ratings with surf height, wind, swell and tide, plus 10-day forecasts, charts and spot guides. Set alerts and it tells you when the conditions you like line up.
The live cams are the big draw. Premium gives ad-free access to more than 1,000 cams, cam rewind, clips of your rides, swell analysis from forecasters and 16-day forecasts. There's also a middle option, Premium with Ads, where you watch an ad each time you open a cam. Premium+ adds wave timelines and ride insights powered by smart cams in the US, Australia and UK.
It's pricey for a forecast app, so the free forecasts are worth trying first. It also logs sessions from Apple Watch, Garmin and Strava. If you surf often, the cams alone may be worth it.
