Cozi
An app that organizes your family's calendar, lists and meals.
What Cozi does
Cozi is a family organizer built around one shared calendar. Each person gets a color, and the same account also holds shared grocery lists, to-do lists, a recipe box and a meal planner. The core app is free with ads, and it works on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.
Cozi has been around since 2010, and it still does the basics well. The whole family shares one Cozi account. Each person signs in with their own email address and the family password, and everyone gets their own color on the calendar so you can see who has what at a glance.
The calendar is only half of it. Shared grocery and to-do lists update for everyone in real time, which is handy when one parent is at the store and the other remembers the milk. You can plan dinners on the calendar, save recipes, and send ingredients straight to the shopping list.
Cozi can pull in events from Google, Outlook and Apple calendars, but only one way: it shows them in Cozi, and you edit them in the original calendar. You can also publish Cozi to other calendars as a feed, though the feed can be slow to update.
The free version covers most families. Ads are the main downside, and the month view on phones is a paid feature.
