What Pixlr does

Pixlr is a photo and video editor for iPhone, Android and the web. It covers quick fixes, filters and collages, plus AI tools like generative fill, object and background removal and image-to-video. It's free with ads and save limits, and its Plus plan costs about $2 a month.

Auto-fix, filters, stickers and text
Grid collages and Instagram carousel maker
AI generative fill, object and background removal
Image to video and AI generation with credits
Works on phone and in the browser

Pixlr has been around for years as a free editor in the browser, and the phone app brings the same idea to your pocket. You can auto-fix lighting and color, crop to any social size, add filters, stickers and text, and build grid collages or multi-slide carousels for Instagram.

The AI side is current: generative fill from a prompt, object and background removal, AI image and video generation, and turning a still image into a short video. Those tools run on monthly credits, and the bigger plans give you more.

The free version shows ads and limits how many images you can save each day. The Plus plan, at about two dollars a month, removes ads and the save limit, which makes it an easy upgrade if you use it a lot. The App Store rating is lower than the big names, so try it before you commit.
